Please note that all students attending our Open Day will be expected to write a 45 minute English examination and a 45 minute Mathematics examination from 13h30 to 15h00. These tests do not require preparation or study and are based on work covered by the end of Grade 6.  All students are expected to attend in their current school uniform.

All students and parents are invited to join us for drinks and snacks in the Functions Room between 17h00 and 18h00 at the conclusion of the Open Day programme.

  • Academics: IEB vs NSC?

A small and independent assessment body is necessary for the fostering of creative, critical and independent thinking. Chantal Lourens, our Academic Head, will tell you about the diverse subject combinations offered by Reddam House Umhlanga as part of the Grade 10 to 12 curriculum; the benefits of an IEB National Senior Certificate as well as Reddam House’s support teaching programme that is key to academic success.

  • Sport, Sports Science and Physical Education

First class sporting facilities, expert coaches, the unique offering of Sports Science as part of the curriculum and a focus on centres of sporting excellence within our Physical Education classes are all designed to help our students reach their sporting potential. We, at Reddam House, believe that every student has the ability to lead and should be provided with the opportunities and platforms to demonstrate their leadership skills. Boarding at Reddam House Umhlanga is a round-the-clock educational experience. It promotes holistic development where students are free to explore educational, cultural and sporting activities 7 days a week. Not many schools can boast of a thriving and dynamic Engineering, Graphics & Design department. Kyle Beach, teacher of EGD, is keen to share his passion for his subject with you.

Tammy Lailvaux is passionate about her subject specialisation of Accounting. However, she would also like to share other aspects of how Reddam House Umhlanga strives to develop an entrepreneurial mind-set and understanding of the world of Commerce.
